Bio/CV: 

Duarte Pinheiro, (BA University of Coimbra; PhD Fernando Pessoa University), is the Executive Director of the CPS and the Deputy Coordinator for the Portuguese Language Programs and Education Affairs in California (Camões, Institute for Cooperation and Language/Portuguese Ministry of Foreign Affairs). From 2006 to 2013 he taught Portuguese Language at the University of L’Aquila, Italy; and Portuguese Language and Literature from 2010 to 2013 at the University of Salerno. From 2015 to 2020, he taught in the Department of Spanish & Portuguese at UC Berkeley as well. Besides denoting a particular interest in Portuguese Crime Fiction, his primary fields of research are Literary Theory, Linguistics and Contemporary Portuguese Literature.
