FLAD Legislative Internships

February 2, 2023

FLAD has just launched the second edition of FLAD Legislative Internships, a program that gives young US citizens with Portuguese ancestry the opportunity to intern in the offices of US legislators also of Portuguese descent. Applications are open until March 10.

Main goal:

This call aims at selecting up to seven interns with an interest in public service and eager to acquire significant experience in the US legislative process.

These are paid, in-person internships that will provide to the selected candidates first-hand political experience and knowledge about local and federal government.

Interns will work directly with a state or federal legislator. Intern tasks will be adapted to your field of expertise and your personal career goals, so you can make the most out of it. This internship will kick off your career and provide you with crucial tools for many roles in the future, within the public or private sector.

Internships will be held during this Summer, with flexible starting date, length and working schedule.
